Snell’s Law
قانون سنيل
formula used to describe the relationship between the angles of incidence and refraction, when referring to light or other waves passing through a boundary between two different isotropic media, such as water, glass, or air. n₁ sin(θ₁) = n₂ sin(θ₂) (where n₁ and n₂ are the refractive indices of the respective media).
Quick Decode
Snell’s Law describes how light changes direction when it passes between materials with different refractive indices, such as air and glass. It states n₁ sin(θ₁) = n₂ sin(θ₂), with both angles measured from the normal—an imaginary line perpendicular to the surface.
