Magnification

التكبير

Lateral or transverse magnification is the ratio of the linear size of an image (h′) to the linear size of the object (h): m = h′/h.

Quick Decode

Lateral, or transverse, magnification tells us how large an image is compared with the object that formed it: m = h′/h. A magnitude greater than 1 means a larger image, while a magnitude less than 1 means a smaller image; with signed heights, a negative value indicates an inverted image.
